Sagir in Hannover

Currently, I can only rate the food delivered and cannot comment on the ambience or the service. I can only praise the food I ordered. It is extremely tasty, authentically seasoned and well seasoned. The selection, the portion sizes and the price-performance ratio are also right.

I don't recommend it. Didn't think it tasted good. The meat was tough and basmati rice wasn't even though it is on the menu. You can smell and taste it. And the yogurt was totally overpriced in size. I was really shocked.

Very tasty food, all three vegetarian dishes were delicious. The naan was also very good. The service was also very friendly, we will definitely be back!

The food in the restaurant is very rich and delicious, and I give it 5 stars. Unfortunately from 6:30 p.m. the restaurant was so crammed with people that the distance of 1.5 m could not be maintained. No problem at times without Corona, but now a no-go.

The food, as always, very tasty. Nicely renovated room with comfortable chairs. Unfortunately, every table was occupied and the safety distance of 1.5-2 m was not kept. :(

Unfortunately a disappointing experience. Ordered the Vegetable Biryani that is labeled as vegan. It came with an obviously not vegan sauce, which I identified as yoghurt. When I called for clarification, I was told that indeed the yoghurt sauce is not vegan. I tried to explain how it can be confusing to label a dish as vegan, and then adding a sauce that is not. This was not quite understood, and I was repeatedly told to simply not eat the sauce. After all, I decided to eat the rice without the sauce, which was unfortunately not amazing either. It was really extremely tasty, the food and the service were just very good. As a starter I had the ginger flatbread which was perfect to the point. The main course was the lamb with cashew nut sauce, incredibly delicious. And for dessert I can only recommend the coconut milk ice cream. We'll definitely be back.

After we used to eat and order at Sagir in the restaurant from time to time (mostly with Reibach vouchers) and the restaurant was closed for a long time due to renovation work during the Corona lockdown, we were there again for lunch yesterday. We were here at 2 p.m. with three people and were the only guests in the guest room. Unfortunately, despite the yawning emptiness, we had to wait a good 40 minutes for our dishes, which were then placed on our table without comment. In the meantime, only one or two Lieferando bags left the shop ... We also have the impression that others have already expressed here that the Lieferando orders have priority over the orders of the guests in the guest room. Even before Corona, the service was rather careless - unfortunately nothing has changed. The staff / operator looks listless and disintegrated. The present employee only wore the mouth and nose covering over the mouth. The food was good and the portions were sufficient. A dish that was declared as "spicy" was anything but spicy - not even spicy. In general, the classifications of the dishes in "mild" and "spicy" do not match - we have already noticed this several times when ordering. You are used to other things from Indian restaurants, so we were a little disappointed. Breads like naan etc are not included in the price of the main course, but have to be ordered and paid for separately (and are not exactly cheap). The first portion of naan is included with a main course in many other Indian restaurants, which is what I would expect at the prices at Sagir ... The lunch menu itself is okay, but very inflexible. A small change to the dish (chicken instead of lamb) would have meant it would have cost twice as much. In the end, we had to order two dishes outside the lunch table, so that we had to pay more than € 60 with three people including drinks and naan. The restaurant experience was sobering, the food was good, but the mood / atmosphere was rather bad; I was a little ashamed to have suggested this restaurant to my insults. In the end we were full, but unanimously decided not to come here again to eat. About the renovation: Although the guest room is now more beautiful than before, it is still not really loving or homely. Orange walls and tables that are quite close together with dark leather chairs. A bit of "Indian-inspired decoration" but no vase / s with flowers, neither on the table nor otherwise in the restaurant, no candles or the like. as table decoration. All in all, it all seems a bit careless and therefore fits the attitude of the employees / the operator. A pleasant athosphere for a nice Indian (evening) meal does not come up here. We might order something to eat from the Sagir home again, but we rule out a visit to the restaurant in the future.

I was always enthusiastic about Sagir, (small but nice) ... after the renovation work the food got even better ... Tandoori oven is new and I can only recommend Chicken Makhani ... in a super sweet and mild sauce .. .just divine ... Chicken from the tandoori is sooooo tender! Yesterday I ate lamb madras and that is unique. There were a few criticisms of lunch and staff after the renovation work, but I think these reopening problems are no longer there; of what I've seen and experienced. Nobody is perfect ... but Sagir is very close ... Always worth a visit! .... Bon appetit!

My girlfriend and I are enthusiastic about the Indian cuisine at Sagir. Every time you are served friendly and you get delicious Indian food. If you like it a bit spicier, the best thing to do is try the Chicken Vindaloo. The naan bread for starters is a must. Plus a mango lassi to drink. We have been coming back for years and always happy to return. Definitely an insider tip in Hanover.

Very tasty, only the "spicy" classification is not correct. There were three of us, had three different levels of sharpness, but we couldn't verify it. The sharp was sharp, but the medium sharp and not sharp made no difference. Two Indian specialists found the food to be very "Indian", I had no experience there.

Very disappointed with the food here, not really indian. The breads (Naan) isn't the actual one. The veg. biryani had unusual vegetables in them. Wouldn't recommend the restaurant for sure. They take very long time for service. One star is only for the ambiance which is nice.

The food is ok types..nothing special..unfriendly staff...pathetic service...we went there with small baby but even after asking several times for quick service we had to wait for more than an hour ..really disappointed..we will not visit again..definitely big big NO to this place

The food was just ok but nothing special and it was very fatty and full of oil. We ordered a lassy and it was too sweet although we explicitly asked for a salty lassy. Good: the prices are rather fair. The service was good and friendly.

Best indian restaurent in hannover i tried almost every indian restaurent in hannover but this one is best restaurent compare to others last sunday i was there with my friends we ordered butter chicken, lamm, pakoras, palak chicken, the food was so delicious and looks so yummy and fresh , really we enjoyed the lot there atmosphere is really touchable with soft music..the best thing is affordable ...also the owner of the restaurent talked so politely well behaviour and professional..i love to visit again and again..thanks for making our day special.

I cannot say enough about how good this place is! If you're visiting Hanover you simply must try this restaurant! Their spicy food is quite hot, though.

Never again!! Although the food was delicious, the service was really bad. The waiter was very unfriendly and not polite. We had to wait for more than 30 min to give our order and then it came after one hour. The waiter did not even apologize and said that the restaurant is crowded. When we asked to take the rest of the food he gave us the leftover in boxes and not even offer a plastic bag in a very rude way. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

Excellent environment, friendly service, great menu choices and really decent food and at affordable prices. visited indian sagir restaurent with friends last Sunday on the way to an event at the NEC.
